Single Sign On from MySOU

When you come to SOU, a network account and password is created for you.  This account and password is used to access the SOU network, the MySOU portal, and email.  If you have more than one SOU network account (i.e., a student account and staff account), your primary network account will be used for the portal and single sign on.

Once inside the MySOU portal, you may log into the following web applications using single sign on if you have an account:

  • Banner
  • Banner Self-Service (SISWeb/Web for Employees)
  • CareerLink (for faculty/staff employers)
  • CareerLink (for students)
  • Course Evaluations
  • Directory Information Editor
  • Discussion Forums
  • Financial Aid Online System (for faculty/staff)
  • Financial Aid Student Web Module
  • Gmail
  • Help Desk
  • HigherOne (for students)

  • Moodle
  • MyFiles 360

There are several different types of single sign on used within MySOU. The type used depends on the features and requirements of the application connecting to. Many of the applications will require that you know your account name and password the first time you log in using the single sign on links from MySOU.  If you don't know them, you will need to contact the appropriate office to find out your account name and set your password before using single sign on.

  1. Single sign on that uses the same account name and password as your network account.
  2. Single sign on that uses the same account name as your network account but requires you to enter your password the first time you log in using the single sign on links within the portal. After that, MySOU remembers your password and can automatically log you in.
  3. Single sign on that uses a different account name and password than your network account name and password. You must know your account name and password the first time you log in using the single sign on links within the portal. After that, MySOU remembers your account name and password and can automatically log you in.
  4. Single sign on that changes your password to match your network password on the application you're logging into.
  5. Single sign on that doesn't care what your password is on the application you're logging into.
