Regulations Regarding Three-Year Hang Tag Parking Permits
Printable application form [PDF format]
The following hang tag regulations do not replace the Southern Oregon University Parking Regulations, which remain in effect for all hang tag permit holders.
Valid dates:
The current hang tag permit is valid September 28, 2007 through September 30, 2010.
Eligibility for permit:
Hang tags are available for purchase by faculty and staff at SOU. Those who are not in permanent positions may need to make special purchasing arrangements (at the cashier windows in the Enrollment Services Center, Britt Hall).
Cost:
Hang tags are available as a prepaid purchase ($243 purchases all three years) or through payroll deduction. They may be purchased at the cashier windows in the Enrollment Services Center, Britt Hall. Details of purchasing options are outlined in the table below.
Use:
The hang tag is designated for use in any vehicle the permit holder parks on the SOU campus. Sharing with another person or transferring to another person is prohibited. Anyone displaying a shared or transferred hang tag will be cited for fraudulent display. If a person persists in sharing or transferring a tag, parking privileges may be revoked (subject to established appeal procedures described in the 2007-2008 Parking Regulations).
Display:
It is the permit holder’s responsibility to display the hang tag so that it is clearly visible on the rearview mirror or the front dashboard of the vehicle. If a permit holder arrives on campus without the hang tag, he or she must display a Day Pass available from the Parking Services window in Churchill 150. For the first occurrence each term the Day Pass is free; future Day Passes in a term cost $6 each. If a permit holder receives a citation because the hang tag was not visible or because he or she was in the process of acquiring a Day Pass, the citation will be voided if the permit is brought to the Parking Services window in the Enrollment Services Center, Britt Hall the same day the citation is issued.
Loss/theft:
The replacement cost for a lost hang tag is $17. If a lost or stolen hang tag is located, it must be returned to the Enrollment Services Center, Britt Hall. Vehicles displaying a lost or stolen hang tag will be cited $ 75 for Fraudulent Display.
Return of tag:
Permit holders leaving SOU employment are required to return the tag.
If the permit holder has prepaid, upon return of the tag he/she will receive a refund for the remaining full year(s).
