Available Adventures
Join any one of these amazing Southern Oregon University Pre‐Orientation Adventures for a trip of a lifetime. Come explore the endless opportunities in Southern Oregon and Northern California that will surround you while attending SOU. You will have an opportunity to meet fellow incoming student fun seekers. All trips will be facilitated by the SOU Outdoor Program's trained professionals.
All multi‐day trips will depart Sunday, September 21 and return for housing check in on Wednesday, September 24.
Klamath River Rafting — 4 days / 3 nights
Multi‐day rafting at it's finest. Enjoy the Lower Klamath in Northern California while rafting or paddling an inflatable kayak through Class I‐III rapids. Delicious meals, great scenery, and fun rapids. Camping gear available for rent upon request. All transportation provided. Only $185
Redwoods and the Oregon Coast — 4 days / 3 nights
A sight seeing bonanza. Enjoy a fabulous tour of Jedediah Smith Redwood State Park and camp amongst the Redwoods. Then head north along the world class Oregon Coast, exploring beaches and harbors. This trip will be a car camping based experience. Camping will take place at three unique state parks. Camping gear is available for rent upon request. Dinner and breakfast provided. Lunches can be purchased in the lovely coastal towns along the route. All transportation and parks fees included. Only $165
Backpacking Southern Oregon — 4 days / 3 nights
A hiker's dream. Start off with the closest Cascade volcano to SOU, Mt. McLoughlin, head to the Sky Lakes Wilderness, finish with Crater Lake National Park, and you have a recipe for a great time. All transportation, cooking equipment, and parks fees provided. You supply your own backpacking cuisine. Backpacks and camping gear are available for rent. Only $125
Rogue River Half‐Day — Sunday, September 28th
A great way to get wet right near campus. A really fun class III river trip. Experience Nugget Falls and Powerhouse Rapids and you won’t be disappointed. Hundreds of SOU students have enjoyed this marvelous run again and again. All transportation and professional guiding provided. Only $25
