School of Nursing
The OHSU School of Nursing has four campuses in Oregon. Located in Ashland, La Grande, Klamath Falls, Monmouth and Portland, students have access to premiere faculty, state of the art facilities and clinical experience opportunities within the OHSU health care community, as well as clinical sites throughout Oregon.
The bachelor of science degree offers students the opportunity to obtain their R.N. license while giving them the necessary leadership, education and clinical experience to prepare them for future opportunities within the nursing profession.
The OHSU School of Nursing has played a key role in educating nurses since it was founded in 1926. With a history of academic and clinical excellence and a commitment to the mission of teaching, healing, community service and research, the school provides undergraduate students with the opportunity to learn in a health care and research oriented environment. In order to meet the growing demand for nurses throughout Oregon and the nation, OHSU School of Nursing has partnered with the Oregon Consortium of Nursing Education to grant bachelor of science degrees at partner institutions throughout Oregon. Admission to the School of Nursing is on a competitive basis. The School of Nursing seeks to admit a diverse group of qualified applicants.
Nursing courses build on and complement the liberal arts and sciences foundation required for professional practice. Graduates of the program are eligible to complete the registered nursing licensure examination and are prepared to assume responsibility for providing professional nursing care.
