The Percussion Studio at Southern Oregon University is designed to provide students with the skills needed to succeed as musicians, teachers, and ambassadors of the world of percussion. All students participate in the study and performance of a range of percussion experiences including snare drum, drum set, multiple-percussion, keyboard percussion, timpani, and hand percussion. Performance opportunities exist in a variety of ensembles at SOU including large and small percussion ensembles. The music major provides students with a broad-based liberal arts education with a focus in music. Degree options in Music Performance, Music Instruction, and Music-Business (co-degree with Dept. of Business) are also available.
