Kristin Kessler
Oboe
Kristin Kessler is currently an Adjunct Professor of Music, teaching oboe at SOU. She is also a member of the Compass Winds, the faculty woodwind quintet for SOU. She plays oboe and English horn with the Rogue Valley Symphony Orchestra, Rogue Valley Symphonic Band, Rogue Opera, and other various organizations in the Rogue Valley. In addition to this, she also has a private oboe studio.
Kessler received both a Bachelor and a Masters degree in Oboe Performance from Indiana University, with a minor in music theory. She has studied with Marc Lifschey, Theodore Baskin, Henry Schuman, Marc Gordon, and Thomas Stacy. Prior to moving to the Rogue Valley in 2001, she played professionally in many musical organizations in Indiana and Kentucky.
