Jazz Band
The Jazz Band usually has the normal big band instrumentation of 5 saxophones, 5 trumpets, and 5 trombones with a standard rhythm section of piano, bass, guitar and drums. Under the direction of Martin Behnke, this ensemble performs a wide variety of big band Jazz from old fashioned swing charts to contemporary Funk/Fusion charts and performs on a Jazz concert at the end of each term. In addition the band has played for a variety of local Jazz community events and has performed as part of the Medford Jazz Jubilee on several ocassions. If you like to play jazz, you are encouraged to register for this ensemble and auditions are held at the first rehearsal of every term to determine placement in the ensemble.
