Military Science
MS113 Adventure Training
Eligibility
Any SOU student is eligible for a 16 credit Military Science Minor. Should entrance into Officer Candidate School (OCS) be desired, the student must be enrolled in the Commissioning Program of the 186 Guard Officer Leadership Detachment (186 GOLD).
Acceptance into the Commissioning Program requires that the following criteria be met. The student must:
- Be an active member of Army National Guard.
- Under 29 years (30-35 requires a waiver).
- U.S. Citizen.
- Passed the Army Physical Fitness Test within 12 Months.
- Physical Exam within 6 months of Phase 1.
- ACT Score of 19 or SAT Score of 850 (not required if Baccalaureate).
- GT Score of at least 110.
- Completed Basic Training / AIT or equivalent.
- Secret Security Clearance initiated.
- No character or behavior disorders.
- 60 Quarter hours to enroll.
- Be an admitted full-time student at Southern Oregon University or Oregon Institute of Technology.
