Educational Benefits
Several educational benefits are available to students who join the 186 GOLD and Army National Guard. As a full-time student you may be eligible to receive some or all of the following benefits:
- The Montgomery GI Bill of $288.00 per month.
- GI Bill Kicker of $350 per month.
- Bonus money as a guardsman; students may qualify for a $10,000.00 initial enlistment bonus for non-prior service soldiers.
- Bonus money as a guardsman; students may qualify for a $15,000.00 re-enlistment bonus for prior service soldiers.
- Weekend drill pay between $152.00to $194.00per month depending on rank. Your drill pay will increase to $335.00 per month upon enrollment in OCS.
- Initial Entry Training (IET) pay for 9 week basic training and 5 week Advanced Individual Training (AIT) of $3,312.00 to $4221.00.
- The Army Tuition Assistance Program can give students an additional $4500.00 per year.
- Students may qualify for the $20,000.00 student loan repayment plan.
- All together, you can receive over $40,000 in benefits during your college career.
