Meet the Staff

Hart Wilson

Greetings!

It is my pleasure to work with the extremely diverse and dedicated individuals who step up to the challenge of the Master in Management (MiM) program. I have been involved in the MiM program since 1999, both as a participant and as an administrative staffer. It has been a great learning experience and an outstanding opportunity to get to know some truly remarkable leaders in our region.

My career path has come full circle: I started out as a high school teacher many years ago, left teaching for some time, and am now very happy to be teaching again. After graduating from OSU, I taught high school French in Corvallis and helped coach the swim team. I later moved to Sacramento for a job with Western Fairs Association where I learned about event management and meeting planning. In 1986, I  moved to Northeast Ohio to work for the VP of Marketing and Sales of the Cleveland Cavaliers. A few years later, I married into a vineyard and winery operation located outside of Akron. We produced about 15,000 gallons of wine a year and sold most of it at the winery, teaching me a lot about marketing and the hospitality industry. I returned to the Rogue Valley in 1998 and completed a master in management degree at SOU in 2002.

Having a background in the public sector, in nonprofit work, and in private industry has been great preparation for working in a masters program that encompasses all of these arenas. Besides serving as the advisor to MiM participants, I teach Project Management, Special Methods in Business Education, and Business Communication, as well as Orientation to Graduate Study.
