Meet the Staff
Barbara Roberts
Welcome to SOU. My name is Barbara Roberts and I am the Credit Program Manger, Student Worker Supervisor, and Transfer Advisor.
My office is located in Room 106B at the Medford Campus and my door is always open to anyone who would like to brainstorm about taking a new direction in their lives.
Before working at SOU - I was a Degree Completion Student in the Human Service Program at SOU. I returned to academic life at the age of 40 when a major life change sent me looking for the means to take care of my 2 children. Not only did I find exactly what I was looking for, I was able to secure a new career and make it possible to raise my children in a healthy and safe environment.
My education includes an A.S. degree from Citrus Community College (1981) and Bachelors of Social Science/ Human Service Degree from Southern Oregon University (2002). Upon my graduation with my HS degree I was hired as the Education and Marketing Director for a local non profit agency. I was then hired to manage the Degree Completion Programs at the Medford Campus. I believe in second chances and that Higher Education was the way to achieve the skills and tools I needed to find a meaningful career that made it possible for me, a single mother, to enjoy life and take care of my family.
