McNair Scholar Lindi Hobongwana
Lindi Hobongwana plans on entering the Oregon Health Sciences University nursing program here at Southern Oregon University, Fall 2006, to study for a Bsc in Nursing with a minor in Cultural Anthropology. She brings with her to this, many years of working in the health care field, both as a medical assistant in a holistic medical practice in Ashland, and as a herbalist. With this, her South African heritage and the cross-cultural experience of being raised in Zambia, Zimbabwe and England, Lindi has a passionate interest in learning of the traditions and practices in healing and healthcare of cultures around the world.
Lindi's vision is to become a Family Nurse Practitioner with a focus in complementary and integrative healthcare, and to ultimately study Medical Anthropology at the doctoral level.
