McNair Scholars

Mary Judith Haas, known as ‘Judy’ to friends and family, acquired an AAOT at Lane Community College and is a current Diversity Scholar at Southern Oregon University. She is continuing her undergraduate program as a Psychology major and will pursue an advanced degree in Education.

Her focus is on developing and implementing higher education programs for marginalized populations, working to cast the role of community colleges further into the supportive social needs of the regions they serve. Judy wishes to guide persons, who live unaware of their own potential and rights to happiness, onto paths of great personal accomplishment, satisfaction, and quality of life.  She has a special love for those who face the challenges of mental illness, criminalization, and abuse.

With great admiration and gratitude she wishes to thank all those who have supported her and rose along her path to guide her way, as she now prepares to take her place and stand for those who follow.
