McNair Scholars
Greetings:My hope is each one of you is as healthy and happy as possible. I am proud to be a native of San Francisco, California. Growing up in this city has taught me volumes about diversity, cultures, and life. I suppose I am truly a product of my environment, in that my existence has been constructed assisting diverse people. It dawned on me years ago; my primary interest in life is about learning and service to all people.
My career choice is the science of psychology. To be honest, I have been actively attempting to live the life as an agent of change in all that I do daily. This is my passion! As an only son with two sisters, my job has always been to teach, assist, mentor, and collaborate with others, toward improvement of mind, body, and soul. I have thus matriculated from Southern Oregon University, June 2007, with a Baccalaureate of Science Psychology, as well as anticipated graduation of Master’s of Applied Psychology June 2009. In fact, as a first generation college student, I will surpass most of my family members, with the highest level of education.
Ultimately, my long-range goal is to earn a Ph.D. in Psychology. This prestigious degree will enable me to further research Axis I and Axis II disorders (anxiety, chemical dependency, depression, PTSD, ADHD, Schizophrenia, antisocial, narcissistic, histrionic, and mental retardation challenges) that debilitate individuals in this country at alarming rates. Further, hopefully, my example of hard work, diligence, focus, and perseverance may assist youth and adults alike to pursue their dreams.
