McNair Scholars
Erosion and landscape disturbance issues have been the subjects of interest and undergraduate research for Chris Adamson, a Geography major at Southern Oregon University. Her practicum was the study of coastal erosion along the northern Oregon coast. Her recent interest has been steep slope erosion in heavily forested areas such as Mount Ashland in the Siskiyou Mountains, Oregon. Her long-term career goal is to obtain a Ph.D. in erosion and landscape disturbance in watersheds. She desires to work in the public or private sector where her research abilities and life experience will assist in designs for improved soil mitigation and prevention methods and reduced landscape abuse.
