Kurt Knudsen wins Supreme Court Judgment

The Oregon Supreme Court on Friday ruled to uphold the city's controversial public safety surcharge, ending a legal battle between the city and some residents who viewed the fee as an unconstitutional tax thanks to our faculty member Kurt Knudsen. Knudsen successfully argued the city's position that the surcharge is a
legal funding source for the city's public safety departments.
Kurt has been a member of SOU faculty for several years and teaches not only upper-division classes in business law for the School of Business, but also teaches the Legal Issues in Management class for the Masters in Management Program. He is a member of the SOU Management Department in the School of Business.
