SOU to Explain Economic Stimulus Projects to Contractors (2/13/09)

Southern Oregon University (SOU) will hold an information session for contractors interested in bidding on the state stimulus plan projects recently approved for SOU. The information session will be held at 3 pm, Thursday, February 19, in the Presentation Hall at the SOU/RCC Higher Education Center at 101 S. Bartlett in Medford.

The legislature approved $1,934,500 in repair and maintenance work at the university. The work includes HVAC upgrades, door access controls, fire alarm upgrades, elevator improvements, roof replacements, classroom improvements and toilet room renovations. Individual projects range from approximately $10,000 to about $300,000. SOU intends to contract for the work by April 1, 2009.

The state stimulus plan legislation requires that contractors selected for the projects provide documentation to the Department of Administrative Services on the number of jobs created.
