Pinning Items to the Windows XP Start Menu
Note: When you Pin an item to the Start Menu, it will be available only on that computer. It will not follow you to other computers around campus. IT recommends that you use the Quick Launch option (see Task Bar documentation) or Personal Menu option for program shortcuts that you want to follow you to other computers. Note: You cannot Pin programs accessed from the Campus Network menus (located in section 1). You can Pin programs located in the standard All Programs menu (section 2). Even though GroupWise is part of the Standard All Programs menu, it cannot be pinned to the start menu. How to Pin from the standard All Programs menu: How to Pin programs not located on the standard All Programs Menu In order to Pin a program not located on the All Programs menu, you must navigate to the program through Windows Explorer. This is and example of how to Pin Microsoft Office programs: Once a program is pinned on the Start Menu it is very easy to remove it from that list:
