File Locations
  • Normally you won't change these.
  • Note: The "Caching Mailbox Directory" may only be available on laptop computers.
Cleanup Options
  • These options are very important for managing your mail.
  • By default Mail and Appointments are set to Manual Archive and Delete.
  • You should choose a scheme for Auto-Archiving and Auto-Deleting that works for you.
  • See Mailbox Maintenance for more details.

  • You can set a signature to be included in messages that you send.
  • You can be prompted to add the signature or it can be added automatically.

The Send Tab

  • You probably won't need to change anything here

The Security Tab

Changing your password
  • Before you can change your password you must enter your old (current) password.
Changing your password
  • One you correctly enter your old (current) password you can set a new password.
  • If "No password required with NDS" is checked you will not be prompted for a password when logged in to the campus network. You will still need your password when using WebAccess or GroupWise Remote.
  • Normally it is a good idea to check this box. The only draw back being that you may forget your GroupWise password if you don't have to type it in every day, and will then have trouble using WebAccess.
Notify Options
  • You will normally want to be subscribed to your own Alarms and Notifications.
  • You can also subscribe to other peoples Alarms and Notifications if they have granted you Proxy access to do so. See the next section.
Proxy Settings
  • You use these settings to grant other people access to your mailbox.
  • Normally the settings for "All User Access" will always be blank.
  • Warning! If you check any of these checkboxes while "All User Access" is highlighted you will be granting rights for anyone in the GroupWise system to view your mailbox. Don't check any of these unless you're sure its what you want to do.
Granting Proxy Access to other people. (step 1)
  • Enter the person's name or select them from the Address Book.
  • Click the "Add User" button.
Granting Proxy Access to other people. (step 2)
  • Highlight the person you just added.
  • Check the checkboxes for the level of access you want to give.
  • Warning! If you give other people access to write messages from you, the message will be indistinguishable from a message you send yourself. The recipient of such a message will have no way of knowing that another person actually sent the message for you.
