International Student Ambassadors
Dear Campus and Local Community Members,
Each year SOU boasts a group of outstanding international students who serve as cultural ambassadors on what is known as ICSP (International Cultural Service Program). ICSP is a scholarship program, which provides students with a partial tuition remission in exchange for sharing their culture through various activities (e.g. tutoring in one's native language, presenting on various aspects of her/his home culture, being part of panel discussions)
This group of 14 students represent 11 countries from around the world: China, India, Guatemala, Japan, Thailand, Poland, D.R. Congo, Kosovo, Mexico, Germany, and Korea. They are a fantastic resource; we hope you will call upon them when you are in need of fresh perspectives.
All requests must be made at least two weeks in advance to the ICSP Coordinator, Agata Gora: goraag@sou.edu or 541.552.6336. (Email is preferred.) When requesting students, please include time/date, length of commitment, type of request needed (e.g. panel discussion participant, presentation on particular topic), and age range of audience. For all requests beyond Ashland High School, transportation must be provided. Requests for particular individuals cannot always be fulfilled because of scheduling conflicts. We will do our best to fulfill all requests, though. If possible, we kindly ask that you post the attachments in a visible place in your department to serve as a reminder of this great campus resource! Thank you.
