Getting Started
It is important to plan ahead, as there are several steps in the process. For many students, it is difficult to decide where to go, and we have tips to help you get started. To participate in an SOU education abroad program, a student must: meet eligibility requirements for their education abroad program; submit a complete application and supplemental materials; gain SOU approval through interview; attend mandatory orientation(s) and receive acceptance into the program from the host institution. Remember to apply for your passport well in advance. Many education abroad programs require a student visa, (and you will need a valid passport to apply for your student visa). It is also a good idea to talk to your family about your plans and to think about finances. Start saving now!
