Winchester Application

Important notes about the application process

Direct exchange

Direct exchange is a good option for SOU students who pay OR resident tuition or the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) rate. It is only available in the Fall and is limited to about 2-6 SOU students. Those who wish to apply for direct exchange and are selcted pay their regular SOU tuition and fees; the remaining applicants pay Winchester tuition and fees. In the SOU portion of the application, you may use the direct exchange faculty reference form in lieu of one of the SOU reference forms, which will save you a step if you plan to apply for direct exchange. Those who plan to apply for direct exchange must complete a separate direct exchange scholarship application by February 15th. An SOU or direct exchange faculty reference form may be used for the Winchester application (end of part D).

 Essays

There is some overlap in the SOU and Winchester portions of the applications, you're welcome to modify your SOU essays to use for your 300 - 500 word Winchester statement of purpose (end of part B). Your essays may also be recycled for your direct exchange essay though it's important to address the criteria
