Mission Statement

The purpose of the International Affairs Council is to evaluate the strengths, weaknesses, needs, and opportunities of SOU with regard to promoting the University's international engagement; to provide strategic policy and planning guidance for the Office of International Programs; to work with the Faculty Senate, Graduate Council, Curriculum Committee, and Provost to promote strategic development and support for academic engagement with international education pursuant to the University's mission; to provide strategic policy and planning guidance to the International Studies Advisory Board, Office of International Programs, and other academic programs as deemed appropriate by the Faculty Senate; to suggest and promote policies that provide opportunities for the international exchange of faculty from and to SOU; and to provide clearing house and liaison activities for information about international events at SOU and in our supporting communities.
