Instructor of Mathematics (2)
Position Summary
There are two full-time, one-year, renewable appointments beginning September 16, 2008 through June 15, 2009. These appointments are each renewable annually, contingent upon satisfactory performance. There is also potential for a third position, a one-year, non-renewable instructor position, contingent on funding. Teaching load is eleven courses per year, including Precalculus and Elementary Statistics.
Compensation
$32,314 - $35,667, depending on experience and the faculty collective bargaining agreement.
Position Responsibilities
This faculty member will teach 4 college-level mathematics courses fall and winter terms, and 3 college-level mathematics courses spring term. In addition to teaching, the faculty member is expected to hold regular office hours, participate in department and university service, and maintain professional currency. Medford campus courses, online courses, and first year general education courses may be part of the assignments at times.
Qualifications
Masters degree required: Masters in Mathematics or Masters in Education with an emphasis in Mathematics strongly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
At least three years experience teaching mathematics at the university, community college, and/or high school level. Applicant must have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching introductory college-level mathematics courses and have an outstanding teaching record. Experience using the TI-calculator in the classroom is highly desirable.
