Student Staff Positions:


They work primarily with the family housing units within University Housing. RMs serve as after hours and emergency contact points for Family Housing tenants. RMs have the most direct and regular contact with Family Housing tenants and serve as providers of quality customer service, and general resources for our tenants. RMs support the academic mission of the University by providing a safe, healthy, and educationally purposeful living environment for all residents of family housing.

The staff memebers that have the most direct and regular contact with conference and University guests staying in SOU’s residential conference facilities. CAs represent SOU as providers of quality customer service, housing and dining opportunities, and serve as general resources for our guests. CAs support the academic mission of the University by serving the educational opportunities within conference programs. The summer CA position is a 40 hours per week position.

They are expected to provide quality and professional customer service to SOU students, families, faculty, staff, and any other constituent. The Housing Office Student Assistant works to help residents with payments, processing room changes, sorting and disturbing mail and packages, and answering many general questions about Housing. The Housing Office Assistant position is an hourly position. Students hired must be able to work at least ten hours per week.

The staff member with the most direct contact with the image of University Housing. Their primary responsibility is to create marketing and manage the social media sites for University Housing. This is a hourly position, students must be able to work 15-20 hours a week.

They are responsible for assisting the department with any administrative needs such as maintenance requests, room change paperwork, room inspections, etc. This position also assists with special projects and has a strong focus on detail and excellent written communication skills. This is a hourly position, students must be able to work 20 hours a week.

They keep the buildings in orderly appearance and cleanliness to present to students, parents and guests. Their primary responsibility is to maintain and keep buildings presentable and in working order.
