Scholarships From Outside SOU
The following scholarships notices have been received by the Enrollment Services Center from outside SOU. Some have applications available in the SOU Enrollment Services Center, however many require application online. Check the individual scholarship notice for deadline, application and links to a web site with more information.
Unless otherwise indicated, the scholarships listed below are for the upcoming academic year. Amounts of some scholarships are dependent on annual earnings and are not available at this time.

Abbott & Fenner Scholarship
Amount: $1,000
The Abbott & Fenner Scholarship is available to students as an essay contest. Visit the Abbott & Fenner web site for information.

Asian Pacific Community Fund Scholarships
Amount: Multiple awards of $1,000
The Asian Pacific Community Fund Scholarships are available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any accredited post secondary institution. Visit the Asian Pacific Community Fund web site for application and information.
Deadline: Depends on award
Ciri Foundation Scholarships And Grants
Offered to eligible and qualified Alaska Natives. Application forms and guidelines can be requested by calling 1-800-764-3382 or by visiting the Ciri Foundation web site.
CFMA Portland Chapter Scholarship
Amount: $2,000 to $3,000.
Offered by the Construction Financial Management Association Portland Chapter to students who are majoring in accounting or finance. Scholarships are awarded at the April 2012 annual banquet. Attendance is required.

Ford Family Foundation
The Ford Family Foundation Scholarship Programs offer a unique group of financial and program resources to college students. It looks for applicants of all ages with some special circumstances who may not have had the encouragement, the opportunity or the financial means to attend or to complete their higher education. 2012 Frank L. Greathouse Government Accounting Scholarship
Amount: $5,000
The Government Finance Officers Association is awarding a scholarship to one or more undergraduate or graduate students enrolled full-time in an accounting program and preparing for a career in state and local government finance. Undergraduates must be in the process of completing at least their junior year by the time the scholarship is awarded. Learn more at the organization's scholarship web site.

Garden Club (National) Scholarships
Amount: Approximately 35 awards of $3,500
The National Garden Club Scholarships are available to students planning a career related to gardening, landscape design, environmental issues, floral design or horticulture. Visit the National Garden Club web site for application and information.

Leslie S. Parker Memorial Scholarship
Grand Chapter of Oregon Order of the Eastern Star is offering scholarships to female Oregon residents who have completed as least two years of satisfactory college work. Students enrolled in graduate programs of study are also encouraged to apply. The rules for scholarship awards, the application and reference form are available at the Grand Chapter of Oregon Order of Eastern Star web site.

2012 Linn-Benton County Scholarships
Amount: Three annual scholarships of $1,000 each
The Oregon Medical Education Foundation (OMEF) is offering scholarships to current high school seniors or graduates of Linn or Benton County high schools who are seeking a career or academic degree in medicine or nursing. Applications are available online.

Minorities in Government Finance Scholarship
Amount: $5,000
Government Finance Officers Association is offering a scholarship to an upper-division undergraduate or graduate student of public administration, accounting, finance, political science, economics or business administration. The purpose of the scholarship is to recognize outstanding performance by minority students preparing for careers in state and local government finance. Oregon Association of Chiefs of Police
Amount: $1,000 (17 awards available)
The OACP scholarships are available to Sophomores and higher with a minimum 2.5 GPA who are criminal justice majors with a demonstrated desire to work in criminal justice or law enforcement. The application requires a cover letter of recommendation from the criminal justice program director, a criminal justice instructor or a financial aid department representative, as well as a signature from your local police chief on the application form indicating that you are recommended to receive scholarship funds. Oregon Lottery Graduate Scholarships
Amount: Varies due to available funds
Oregon Lottery Graduate Scholarships are available to graduate students showing academic merit and financial need. Applicants must complete the Oregon Lottery Graduate Scholarship application and any additional materials required by specific academic programs.

Oregon Native American Chamber 2012 Scholarship
Amount: $1,000
The Oregon Native American Chamber (ONAC) 2012 Scholarships are available to currently enrolled undergraduate students who are residents of the state of Oregon or Clark County, WA. More information is available here.

Oregon Student Access Commission
OSAC scholarships are for Oregon residents who are new Oregon high school graduates, first-time college freshmen, undergraduates or graduate students. More than 400 scholarships are available. Visit the Oregon Student Access Commission website for more information and an application.

The Planning Wizard
Amount: $500
The No Essay-Fast Entry Scholarship is for high school seniors or college students who will be enrolled in an Oregon or Clark County, WA college, university or trade school in 2012 or to any resident of Oregon or SW Washington attending a college in another state in 2012. Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship
Amount: Flat grant of $25,000
The Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship provides a large grant meant to study abroad for one academic year. The grant is expected to cover round-trip transportation, tuition, room, board, and educational supplies. More information is available at the Rotary web site.
Sallie Mae Fund Scholarships

Southern Oregon Latino Scholarship Fund
The Southern Oregon Latino Scholarship Fund supports Latino/Hispanic students who are residents of Jackson, Josephine or Klamath Counties. Entering freshmen and continuing college students seeking their first academic degree, and students in an accredited technical training program that leads to licensure may apply.
