The scholarship notices listed below have been received by the Enrollment Services Center from outside of SOU. Check the individual scholarship notice for deadline, application process and links to a web site with more information. Please note that WUE (Western Undergraduate Exchange) is not listed here since it is part of your initial application for admission to SOU.

Abbott and Fenner Scholarship Program
Amount: $1,000 to the winner(s) each year
Students will submit an essay on the topic that appears on the scholarship page of our web site http://www.abbottandfenner.com/scholarships.htm.  Full details are available on our site.

AES Engineers Scholarship
Amount of award: $500.00
The consulting firm of AES Engineers is committed to continuing its support of higher education by providing scholarships to deserving students. To be eligible the student needs to answer one of the essay questions that they will find on our site at http://www.aesengineers.com/scholarships.htm Our belief is that achieving a high grade point average should not be the only criteria for determining who deserves to be helped. For that reason we are offering a scholarship that will be awarded on the basis of character, as determined by evaluating the essays that are submitted.

Asian Pacific Community Fund Scholarships
Amount: Multiple awards of $1,000
The Asian Pacific Community Fund Scholarships are available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any accredited post secondary institution. Visit the Asian Pacific Community Fund web site for application and information.

BigSun Scholarship
Amount: $500.00
The BigSun Organization is proud to be able to continue to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. We are offering an annual scholarship to a deserving student. All student athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they are participating in. The successful applicant will be a high school senior or be attending a post secondary institute and currently involved in some sport at that institution or in the community. Ciri Foundation Scholarships And Grants
Offered to eligible and qualified Alaska Natives. Application forms and guidelines can be requested by calling 1-800-764-3382 or by visiting the Ciri Foundation web site.

Lake Oswego Crafts & Arts League Educational Foundation Women's Art Scholarship
Amount: Varies
The Lake Oswego Crafts & Arts League announces its annual scholarship awards for college women majoring in Art.  A total of $9,000 for tuition and supplies will be awarded to the artist/artists whose work is selected at the scholarship screening.  Please visit our website for more information and application for this scholarship.

Oregon Association of Chiefs of Police

Amount: $1,000 (17 awards available)
The OACP scholarships are available to Sophomores and higher with a minimum 2.5 GPA who are criminal justice majors with a demonstrated desire to work in criminal justice or law enforcement. The application requires a cover letter of recommendation from the criminal justice program director, a criminal justice instructor or a financial aid department representative, as well as a signature from your local police chief on the application form indicating that you are recommended to receive scholarship funds. Application brochure and form are available at the OACP scholarship web site.

Oregon Concrete & Aggrete Producers Assn. Inc. (OCAPA)
The OCAPA scholarship program offers scholarships to university students who intend to pursue a career in the construction materials industry. Scholarships will be awarded to junior, senior, or fifth year students enrolled at an Oregon university or college encompassing disciplines related to the construction materials industry. Areas of study may include, but are not limited to, construction materials, engineering, geology, architecture, land use planning, biology, environmental law, and fish and wildlife studies.
To apply for OCAPA scholarship, please complete an application packet. The application must include these three items:

  1. The completed application which can be found at the OCAPA web site.
  2. On a separate sheet of paper, a 300-500 word statement of his/her career plan and how it relates to the construction materials industry;
  3. A letter of recommendation from a professor, employer or other relevant acquaintance is suggested, but not required.

Oregon Lottery Graduate Scholarships
Amount: Varies due to available funds
Oregon Lottery Graduate Scholarships are available to graduate students showing academic merit and financial need. Applicants must complete the Oregon Lottery Graduate Scholarship application and any additional materials required by specific academic programs.
Deadline: Depends on academic program

Oregon Scottish Rite Education Foundation, Inc
The Oregon Scottish Rite Education Foundation in Oregon, Inc. annually awards ten to fifteen $1,000 scholarships to deserving students entering or attending undergraduate studies at an accredited college, university or trade school.  Application requirements include a current transcript, with a final grade transcript required at the end of spring term.  We also require at least one letter of recommendation from a school staff member.

Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship
Amount: Flat grant of $25,000
The Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship provides a large grant meant to study abroad for one academic year. The grant is expected to cover round-trip transportation, tuition, room, board, and educational supplies. More information is available at the Rotary web site.

Sallie Mae Fund Scholarships
