Academic Competitiveness Grant

This is a new federal grant, starting in the 2006-2007 academic year. It is available to first and second year students who are eligible for a Pell grant, enrolled full time, and who have completed a rigorous secondary program. Students must not have been previously enrolled in an undergraduate program. Awards may be up to $750 for the first year and $1300 for the second year.  Click the quick link below to find out more.

Federal Pell Grant

$400-$4731 per year
The Pell Grant is the principal federal grant. Like all grant funds, it is a monetary gift and does not have to be repaid.

It is available to low-income, undergraduate students. When applying for the Pell Grant, the federal government will notify you of eligibility in your Student Aid Report (SAR). Pell Grant funds are available throughout the year to eligible full-time or part-time admitted students.

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)

$300-$1,000 per year
Like the Pell grant, the FSEOG is a federal grant for undergraduates. Students with high financial need may receive funding from both the Pell Grant and the FSEOG. In order to qualify, the federal processor must receive your FAFSA by March 1st.
