Summer Financial Aid Information
Summer Session is the last term of the current academic year at SOU. You must be formally admitted to SOU to be aid-eligible during the summer.
New SOU students need to have listed SOU on the current academic year's FAFSA by June 1 in order to have aid ready for the start of summer term. In addition you should file the upcoming year's FAFSA in order to receive aid for the upcoming academic year which begins in the fall.
During Summer Session, aid is limited to Direct Loan/Pell Grant eligibility remaining from the current academic year. Transfer students in particular need to check with Financial Aid (esc@sou.edu) to see whether they have any remaining aid eligibility. Continuing SOU financial aid students who are attending Summer Session and would like to apply for summer aid need to fill out the Summer Aid Request Form.
Financial Aid Online
To check the status of your aid, use your social security number and your SOU Financial Aid pin number. (If you have misplaced your pin number, you may request it by e-mail or at the Enrollment Services Center. Please be sure to bring a photo ID.)
