How to read the Final Exam Schedule

To determine the time of the final exam, locate the first day and time that the class regularly meets in each of the exam tables. Follow the column UP to find the day of your exam and LEFT for time of exam. For example: If your ENG 101 meets at 10:00-10:50 a.m. MTRF, then Monday at 10:00 a.m. would be the first day and time that the class regularly meets. Look at the chart, Monday at 10:00am would use the time block labeled, "Mon or Wed 10:00am", and so your final exam would be on the day and time given in the LEFT AND TOP COLUMNS OF THE TABLE.

Procedure and Policies

  • All examination periods are 110 minutes, beginning at 7:30 a.m., 10:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 3:30 p.m.
  • Examinations will be held in usual classrooms, unless instructed otherwise by professor.
  • Instructors should determine their final examination times and announce them to their students.
  • Block exams are those multiple section classes giving common exams at the same time.
  • There will be absolutely no major exams during "dead week." Final exams may be given only during the week designated for final exams. This policy was passed by the faculty some years ago to protect students from undue pressure in the final days of the term, as well as providing some equity of time between exams.
  • If the first day and time that your class regularly meets each week is not listed in the Final Exam Schedule, speak with your instructor as she/he will be making arrangements for an agreed upon time in which all students will be able to take the final exam.
