Endorsements
English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)/Bilingual
The English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)/Bilingual program is a 24-credit program for adding the ESOL endorsement to an existing Oregon license. Those who desire a bilingual endorsement in addition to the ESOL endorsement must document proficiency in the target language (Spanish) by achieving at least an advanced level on the Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) administered by the American Council for the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL). A 12-month program for currently licensed teachers who want to add Special Education to their license. More info...

The SOU Education Department is part of a collaborative of five Oregon University System (OUS) schools offering a 24-credit reading endorsement or a 12-credit reading certificate.

Programs for adding subject areas sanctioned by the Oregon's TSPC. Go to...
Licensed teachers can also add subject area endorsements to their licenses by meeting the subject-specific pre-requisites and testing requirements and completing a 12 credit program.
Adding Levels:
Licensed teachers can complete a program at SOU to add one contiguous level to their licenses in the following areas:
Early Childhood
Elementary
Middle School
High School
