Theatre Teacher Training Faculty
Michael Maag
Michael is the Oregon Shakespeare Festival's Lighting Department Manager, Automated Lighting Programmer, and Visualist. He has designed, implemented and programmed lighting for theatre companies across the United States for over 20 years, with over 100 lighting design credits for Theatre, Musicals, Opera, Dance, and Industrials. Michael started working with automated lighting in 1989, using four Intellabeams programmed on an Apple ][E. Now he programs dozens of the latest automated lights using custom software for OSF’s 11 productions per year. In his "spare" time Michael creates visuals for and performs improvisational video with the group Sonoluminescence. Michael is a member of the United States Institute of Theatre Technology, and IATSE Local #15. He holds a BS in Technical Theatre from the University of Northern Colorado.
