Lynn Jeffries
Lynn
Jeffries is a puppeteer and set, costume and puppet designer. She has collaborated
with co-instructor Paul Zaloom on several projects, including his solo shadow
puppet show, The Mother of All Enemies; the feature-length toy theater
film, Dante's Inferno; Beyond the Beyond: The Gay FutureWorld!,
a collaboration with gay youth and gay seniors; and their current two-person spectacle,
The Tiny Jumbo Jolly Grim Show.
Lynn also performs
in nightclubs as shadow puppeteer with the neo-vaudevillian folk/jazz band, The
Ditty Bops, and broke into radio puppetry when she joined them in a live session
on KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic (which runs a simultaneous video webcast).
A founding member of Cornerstone Theater Company (since 1986), Lynn has designed
sets, costumes and puppets for over fifty productions. Her regional theater work
includes designs for Arena Stage, The Guthrie, TheatreWorks, South Coast Repertory,
and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, for which she did the costumes for Welcome
Home, Jenny Sutter in 2008, and is currently designing puppets for a new
adaptation of Don Quixote on the Elizabethan stage.
She has won two Backstage West Garland Awards and a Drama-Logue Award, and been
nominated for two Ovation Awards, a Lester Horton Dance Award, and an NAACP Theater
Award.
