Survey of Dramatic Literature: Modern Drama
Online January 5-March 20, 2009
An online 3-credit graduate level course geared toward high school and community college theatre educators:
- Examine selected works from the modern drama canon by such playwrights as Ibsen, Stringberg, Shaw, O'Neill, Beckett, and Brecht
- Explore critical and analytical works and apply them to your reactions to the plays you read
- Investigate the culture in which the literature was created, including
significant historical and philosophical documents from the period and
contemporary commentary on the works, period and culture
- Exchange ideas and thoughts through online discussions on Blackboard
- Develop critical writing skills and your ability to communicate your interpretation of dramatic works

Application Information
Space is limited to twenty-five students. Prerequisite: Bachelor's degree or permission of the instructor. ACTS Master of Theatre Studies students get first priority. This course may serve as one of the required additional 3-credit courses toward the ACTS Master of Theatre Studies.

Cancellation and refund policy
Once you are accepted, all but $50 of your payment will be refunded if written notice of cancellation is received by January 1. No refunds will be made after January 1. Tuition will be returned if you are not accepted.
