This page contains information about resources that are available to you and policies and procedures that you are expected to follow as a student at Southern Oregon University.
Using MySOU
MySOU (http://my.sou.edu) is your one-stop portal for accessing important student systems. It gives you access to:
- SISWeb - to register for courses, pay your bill, etc.
- Gmail - your student email
- Moodle - to access your online courses
- My Files 360 - to store your personal files online and enable access to them from any computer with an Internet connection
- Campus communications and social networking opportunities
If you have not already activated your network account, see activation instructions to obtain your network user name and password for logging into MySOU.
Note: If MySOU is not working, you can access all of the above programs at http://www.sou.edu/anywhere. However, you will need to submit your login credentials at each site.
Student Help and Resources
Whether you are taking courses online or on campus, resources are available to help you succeed in your courses. Please do not hesitate to ask for assistance. Refer to this list of student resources.
Student Policies
The Student Policies page contains documents such as the Code of Student Conduct, grievance procedures, and other information important to you as an SOU student. You are expected to read and follow these policies and procedures.
Check Your Email Regularly!
You are responsible for information communicated to you through your SOU email account, so be sure to check it frequently.

Your instructors will use your SOU email account for all course-related communication.

Your SOU student e-mail account is the primary means of University communication covering a range of topics such as emergency notices, billing for university charges, account purge notices, etc.

To check your SOU email account, log into MySOU and click on the GMail button along the top of the page.

If you wish, you can set your student email account to automatically forward messages to another address by following these instructions.

When sending messages or replying to your instructor, be sure to follow any relevant instructions. You instructor may require that you send messages from your SOU student email account and/or that you include your name and course title in the subject line.
