CLEP Tests
The College-Level Examination Program® or CLEP provides students of any age with the opportunity to demonstrate college-level achievement through a program of exams in undergraduate college courses. There are 2,900 colleges that grant credit and/or advanced standing for CLEP exams.
- Students may earn as many credits through CLEP as they are able to successfully pass, providing the examination does not duplicate credit previously earned.
- A student is allowed only one attempt in each course to acquire credit rhrough CLEP. Students who have taken but not passed a course may subsequently attempt to acquire credit in the course through CLEP. If they fail, they can acquire credit only by repeating the course. If the student fails the examination, it is not recorded on the student's academic record.
- Students who have taken CLEP examinations prior to entering SOU may transfer their credit. They must have passed the examination with a score at or above the miniumum level accepted by the University, and the University must approve the examinations for credit.
- Review the list of CLEP courses that are accepted by SOU and the course equivelency.
CLEP exams can be taken at the Medford Campus or for students outside of the region, check for a site in your area.
