Orientation Course
A free Orientation Course is available to give you a hands-on look at our online course management system called Blackboard. In addition to detailed instructions on using Blackboard, the orientation course gives you information on all the steps you need to become a successful online student at Southern Oregon University. Illustrations, video tutorials and step-by-step instructions are included. We highly recommend that you take the course if you would like to enroll in online courses at SOU.
The steps for accessing the orientation course are given below. Please note that this is not the same way you will access other SOU online courses.
- Go to the Blackboard demo site.
- Click on the red User Login button in the top left portion of the screen.
- For user name, enter SOU_guest and for password, enter sou (must be lower case).
- On the right side of the screen, click on de-orientation: Online Orientation Course.
- Read the announcement and follow the instructions.
