Notice to Online Students
Authorization for Out-of-State Course Delivery
Recently enacted federal regulations limit Southern Oregon University's ability to offer online opportunities to out-of-state students. SOU is currently working to comply with the appropriate regulations in states which regulate the delivery of distance education. Due to high annual fees associated with maintaining compliance in Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, and Minnesota, SOU is not able to accept registrations or applications for online classes or programs from students who reside in these states.
In compliance with USDOE regulations, current and prospective students can find information about state authorization status and complaint processes on this page.
