Getting Admitted to the School of Business

Getting admitted to the University is not the same as getting admitted to the School of Business. Both must be done! Students who have been admitted to SOU may take any lower division (100 or 200-level) course in Business Administration if they have met the course prerequisites. Students who anticipate declaring a major in Business are classified as Pre-business Majors until they are admitted to the School of Business. Students entering the Online Degree Completion Program must meet with the advisor of the program first before registering for classes. Most or all of the prerequisite coursework should be completed before taking upper division coursework.

Admission to the School of Business:

Students who wish to take upper division (300-level or above) courses in Business Administration must first be admitted to the School of Business.  To be admitted, you must first complete the following:

1. Completion of SOU’s University Studies Requirements, Oregon Block Transfer Degree, or the CSU or IGETC in California.

2. Completion of lower division support courses for admission to the School of Business

·                        Microeconomics (Econ201)

·                        Macroeconomics (Econ202)

·                        Elementary Statistics (MTH243)
