Senior Ventures is a program of Southern Oregon University, located in the beautiful little town of Ashland, Oregon.

There's something magical that happens in Ashland. This sweet little town moves at a different pace, a rhythm you might remember from the best times of your life. People are friendly and relaxed, ready to enjoy the pleasures of the day. The simple ruggedness of the surrounding mountains inspires artists; local musicians gather at coffeeshops on Sunday mornings, sharing the joyful sounds of their instruments; and tonight's theatre stars join the rest of Ashland in its daily activities. Residents and guests are free to explore the beauty that surrounds us and the world inside our minds.

Rewarding Classes

You can always count on our outstanding educational programs taught by actors, behind-the-scenes professionals, and Shakespeare scholars. Our instructors' love for their subjects is evident in the vibrancy they bring to the classroom and in our guests' annual refrain, "These are the best classes ever. Nothing could top this!"

Resident Facilities

Lodging is in Cox Hall on the park-like Ashland campus of Southern Oregon University, one mile from downtown and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Deluxe rooms offers two full-size beds (single-occupancy rooms generally have one queen bed), private bath, kitchenette, your own phone line, and individual heat pump for maximum comfort in heating and cooling your room. Standard residence hall rooms offer simple but comfortable furnishings (twin bed and desk with comfortable chair) and companionable bathroom-down-the-hall facilities. A beautiful residence lounge on each floor features a stunning view of the Cascade foothills through floor-to-ceiling windows and offer relaxed seating, cable television, and computer and Internet access. It's the perfect place to enjoy a quiet moment or chat about last night's play with your fellow residents. When registering, be sure to indicate your housing choice: standard or deluxe room, with double or single occupancy.

Programs begin on the afternoon of the first day listed, and end either with breakfast or lunch on the last day listed. Although the fee does not include transportation to the program, it does cover transportation to events during the program.

Ashland lies just north of the California border on Interstate 5, approximately a seven-hour’s drive north of San Francisco and a five-hour’s drive south of Portland. The Medford Airport, fifteen miles north of Ashland, is served by United and Horizon Airlines. We will gladly meet your flight at the Medford airport and transport you to our campus.
