Objective(s):

1.     To understand the backup and recovery procedures in Oracle

2.     To look at employment opportunities for an Oracle DBA

 

1.     Assume the target audience is the CS 462 class. Create documentation that will explain in a step-by-step manner

a.      How to backup an existing database

b.     How to recover from a crash.

c.     Tools available (from Oracle and other 3rd party vendors) for these tasks.

 

2.     Report on some available employment opportunities for Oracle DBAs. Include such things as:

a.      How many opportunities did you find?

b.     What were the job descriptions?

c.     What platforms were the most popular?

d.     In which part of the US did you find the most opportunities?

e.      What were the required qualifications?

f.       What were the salary scales?

g.     Any other interesting facts and observations.
