NCA, formerly known as the Speech Communication Association, is a national organization whose purpose is "to promote study, criticism, research, teaching, and application of the artistic, humanistic, and scientific principles of communication."
The Rhetoric and Composition Web page contains an assortment of communication resources such as: classical rhetoric from philosophers like Aristotle, online journals and books on communication, online writing centers, popular communication departments at several colleges and universities, and several communication resources.
[Formerly the European Speech Communication Association] - The main goal of the Association is "to promote Speech Communication Science and Technology, both in the industrial and Academic areas," covering all the aspects of Speech Communication (Acoustics, Phonetics, Phonology, Linguistics, Natural Language Processing, Artificial Intelligence, Cognitive Science, Signal Processing, Pattern Recognition, etc.).
SPJ is a national professional organization that supports the activities of individual journalists. It focuses on First Amendment issues and Freedom of Information (FOI) issues and it has professional as well as student members.
