Alcohol Content of Whiskey
From your class data, plot density as a function of volume percent alcohol (DO NOT plot
the whiskey densities!), and use excel to fit a line
to the plot (once you have the plot, go the the
chart menu at the top of the screen and
select add trendline.) A sample plot is shown here:
Average the whiskey densities, and use the equation of the
best-fit line to find the corresponding volume percent alcohol. Your average whiskey density
will be the y-value; solve for x, which will correspond to the volume percent alcohol
in the whiskey.
