Brittany Depew, Environmental & Community Engagement Coordinator


Brittany was born and raised outside Denver and completed in BA in Liberal Arts at Colorado State University.  After spending some time traveling and living abroad, she returned to the U.S. and moved to Portland, OR, where she fell in love with bikes, gardening, buying locally, and the beauty of the Pacific Northwest.  After a number of years enjoying the NW from behind cafe countertops, Brittany returned to school at Portland State University, where she received her MA is Sustainability Education.  She began her current position in 2011 and there hasn't been a dull day since!

Brittany enjoys exploring the Rogue Valley with her husband, baby boy, and two dogs.

Maggie Abney, Academic House & Service Learning Leadership Coordinator AmeriCorps VISTA

10155415 10151947642531150 355145307581012274 nAs the daughter of a US Army civilian, Maggie grew up living in various locations in the US and abroad, though if you really want to know, she is "the most from" Iowa.  She received her BA in Politics from Drake University in Des Moines, IA.  After a year of teaching English in China, she crossed the Rockies for the first time to move to Oregon.  She graduated with her MA in Political Science - focusing on revolutionary politics in the modern Middle East - from the University of Oregon in 2013.

In her spare time, Maggie enjoys traveling, watching British television, and discovering local businesses to support.

Megan Ziemer, Student Civic Engagement Coordinator

meganpicBorn in Grants Pass, OR, Megan has lived along the West Coast her whole life.  After graduating from Brookings-Habor High School in 2010, she came to Southern Oregon University.  Studying Communication, she hopes to one day use her degree in everyday life.  A senior at SOU, she is busy with classes, work, and friends.  Volunteering since she can remember, she has been involved with many organizations, including soup kitchens and the Girl Scouts.

When not busy, you can find her watching one of her many movies, swinging on the swings, or learning how to whistle.

 Kate Lundquist, Student Civic Engagement Coordinator

kateCEpicKate grew up in Jacksonville, OR.  After high school, she left for Eugene to pursue a BA in Anthropology at the University of Oregon, where she also worked with incoming freshmen and volunteered on campus and in the community.  She graduated in 2011 and spent some time in Portland before moving back to the Valley to work in non-profits and apply for graduate school.  She's attending SOU to pursue her MA in the Interdisciplinary Studies program, focusing on socio-cultural studies in application with non-profits.

When she manages to find some spare time, she can be found reading something fictional in a coffee shop, enjoy the glorious nature of Oregon, or having a movie night with her roommates at home.
