The American Language Academy/SOU is one of ten private intensive English language programs at the college level in the United States. The purpose of ALA is to develop the English language skills of international students whose first language is not English to a level necessary for success in an American college or professional environment. ALA/SOU provides a variety of services, including academic advising, computer-assisted language learning, housing placement, and cultural activities.
