How do I know if I have a 3.0 GPA for my last 90 quarter credits or 60 semester credits?
To calculate your GPA, multiply the number of credits for each course by the grade points earned. Following is a list of grades and the corresponding grade points to help you:
| Grade | Grade Points |
| A | 4.0 (Exceptional accomplishment) |
| A- | 3.7 |
| B+ | 3.3 |
| B | 3.0 (Superior) |
| B- | 2.7 |
| C+ | 2.3 |
| C | 2.0 (Average) |
| C- | 1.7 |
| D+ | 1.3 |
| D | 1.0 (Inferior) |
| D- | 0.7 |
| F | 0.0 (Failure) |
Grades of E, I, P, NP, W, WP, WF, and NC do not carry grade points, and the credits are not calculated into the GPA. Credits attempted for F grades are calculated into the GPA. The following example illustrates computation of the GPA:
| Course | Credits | Grade | Grade Points |
| BA370 |

|
A
|
16.0
|
| BA374 |

Credits with grade points (16) divided into total grade points earned (48) = GPA (3.0). Total credits earned = 17.
Do I have to take the GMAT Exam?
You only have to take the GMAT if you do not meet the admission requirement of 3.0 for your last 90 quarter credits or 60 semester credits taken for your Baccalaureate degree or towards a graduate program (i.e. Masters or higher). If you must take the GMAT, you can register for it at www.MBA.com . At this website, you can also learn more about what an MBA can do for you and research financing options.
Are there any electives in this program?
The MBA program consists of 37 credits of required coursework and 8 credits of electives. Most 500-level business classes will qualify as electives for the MBA program; however, students should talk with their advisor about elective selection and get prior approval.
What is the transfer policy?
A student may include up to 15 quarter credits of approved graduate coursework taken prior to regular admission to the MBA program. Such courses must be appropriate for the MBA program and approved by the major advisor, the MBA program coordinator, and the school dean. No more than 6 quarter credits of prior or transfer credit may be from a previous master's degree. All courses included in the degree program must be seven years old or less at the time the degree is completed. However, with the approval of the Office of Graduate Studies, up to 12 credits of courses over seven but less than ten years old at degree completion may be included. Course syllabi are required for transfer credit review and approval."
If you are a student in the MIM program, see the MBA Handbook for more information about transferability.
