MBA Program

Program Curriculum and Delivery Format

The MBA program at SOU is offered in two formats designed to meet the needs of busy working professionals. Students for both programs are accepted and begin in Fall term.

MBA Core Course Descriptions

Full Time MBA Course Plan ~  Under construction for Fall 2010

MBA core courses for the Full time MBA program are taught primarily Mondays through Thursdays in the late afternoons and evenings on the Ashland campus. Core MBA courses are taught in sequence beginning in fall quarter. This program may be completed in one calendar year (fall, winter, spring, summer). Elective courses are offered in various formats (face-to-face day or evening, online, hybrid) and must be discussed with and approved by the MBA program coordinator.

Part Time Saturday Cohort MBA Course Plan

MBA core courses for the Part-time Program meet all day on Saturdays and are taught primarily at the RCC/SOU Higher Education Center in Medford. Participants take two core courses each term, except for the first term when there is an additional 1-credit Ethics course. The program follows the SOU academic calendar which allows for periodic breaks between quarters. The Part-time MBA program is designed on a cohort model; all participants start and proceed through the program together. The part-time program requires 18 to 21 months to complete. Core MBA courses are taught in sequence for six consecutive quarters (fall, winter, spring, summer, fall, and winter); the final spring term is set aside for completion of electives. Elective courses are offered in various formats (online, hybrid, face-to-face Saturdays or weekday evenings) and must be discussed with and approved by the MBA program coordinator. (Note: Students may opt to complete their elective courses during the first six quarters of the program rather than during the final spring term.)
