Experience Overview:

Raj Parikh joined the university in 2009 as tenured Professor and Dean of the School of Business. He earned a B. Tech. with Honors from the Indian Institute of Technology in 1972. He completed all coursework toward an M.S. in Chemical Engineering at the University of Buffalo (State University of New York) in 1973 and received a Ph.D. in Accounting and Finance in 1982, also from the University of Buffalo.

A believer in the value of lifelong learning, Raj has obtained additional professional qualifications -- Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Financial Manager (CFM) and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). He received a Gold Medal for obtaining the highest score in the nation on the CMA examination.

Prior to joining SOU, Raj was the Chief Executive Officer of the Ras Al Khaimah Education Company (EDRAK) in the United Arab Emirates. EDRAK's mission was to attract reputable international universities to the UAE to bring quality education to the residents of the UAE and surrounding region. Before joining EDRAK, Raj served as a Commissioner for Academic Accreditation at the UAE Ministry of Higher Education.

From 2004-2007, Raj was Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Delaware State University in Dover, DE, where he also served as Acting Dean of the College of Business.  At DSU, he played a key role in the College obtaining AACSB accreditation for its College of Business.

From 2001-2004, Raj was Dean of the Division of Business at Wilmington University in New Castle, Delaware where he started a Master's Program in Organizational Leadership and a Weekend MBA Program. He paved the way for the Division obtaining IACBE accreditation.

Between 1982 and 2000, Raj worked at St. Bonaventure University (New York) and Buena Vista University (Iowa) serving in various capacities including Dean of Business and Dean of Lifelong Learning. During the period 2000-2001, he was Chief Financial Officer of Fertility Acoustics Corporation in Buffalo, NY.

Raj has co-authored World Accounting, a three-volume treatise on international accounting which is updated semi-annually. He has authored papers in accounting and finance and presented them at regional, national and international conferences.

Raj lives in Medford, Oregon.
