Curt Bacon is a Professor of Business at SOU and has been at the university since 1987. He earned a BS in Business Administration and Economics and an MBA from North Dakota State University as well as an MS in Finance from the University of Oregon. He earned his Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) in Finance from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale .
Curt served as Chair of the School of Business from 1997 to 2004 and continues to serve as the Summer Session Chair. He has served on the faculty Senate, chaired several search committees, and for many years was an executive board member of the Associated Professors of Southern Oregon University (AP:SOU). He is currently one of the primary student advisors in the School of Business and a big proponent of international study for SOU students. Curt is the Coordinator for the SOU Accelerated Baccalaureate Program and he writes supplementary materials for several finance texts.
Curt is married with one child in college and another in high school. He spends some of his time away from campus serving on the Ashland School District Budget Committee and as an active member of the AHS Booster Club. He also has two golden retrievers, Jake and Emma (AKA "NO No Bad Dog").
