The SOU herbarium houses collections emphasizing the vascular flora of the Siskiyou Mountains, the wider Klamath Mountain Ranges, the Central and Southern Cascades, and the high desert of central and southeastern Oregon. The SOU Herbarium also houses cryptogam collections representing western North America, with an emphasis on hyperoceanic and high elevation areas in the Pacific Northwest.
