Oneta Cantlon

 ASSOU Term 2013 2014

About Me

My name is Oneta. I am the gender equality and sexual diversity senator for ASSOU. I came to SOU because the school had an air of warmth and acceptance; I wanted to attend a school that fostered diversity. I am a double major in chemistry and math. I got involved in ASSOU because I am very passionate about gender equality and sexual diversity. I want students to feel comfortable with who they are and feel they have a safe place on campus. I believe that discovering who you are is one of the most important aspects of the college experience and it requires that you feel comfortable at school. In high school I was involved in the gay-straight alliance; I took two leadership classes and AP government; and I played softball.

Constituents include any member of the ASSOU living in housing or residence halls administrated by University Housing or Family Housing.  This Senator shall also attend meetings of the Residence Hall Association and serve as a liaison between that body and ASSOU.
